Great product: discs are very durable, dogs love catching them. There is a learning curve for using the thrower, but it works well once mastered. One user says disc throwing is great physical therapy for her sore shoulder. Service was excellent; item arrived promptly after ordering.
My border collie loves this disc launcher!
OUTSTANDING, FLIES LIKE AN EAGLE, KEEP UP THE GOOD PRODUCTS
My aging arms and wrists were getting sore every time I threw the frisbee for my dog, and the Launcher has saved the day. I can swing the Launcher with either arm - no need to use the baseball-pitching technique - and get a long throw. My frisbee-loving German Shepherd and I thank you!
SO DISAPPOINTED. FIRST LAUNCH AND IT SHATTERED…
REFUND PLEASE. HAPPY TO RETURN THE PIECES.
My husband can really send the frisbee a long way with this launcher. I have not mastered the technique yet but I will get it with practice. I injured my right shoulder trying to throw a frisbee without the launcher. That is the reason we bought this one. So I am trying to throw with my left arm and I am not too coordinated with that arm. Seems to b e a great product
My dog loves it!
This would be a great product for an able bodied person. As a C5/C6 quadriplegic, I originally bought this thinking it would enable meto throw discs again if I used a special glove to keep it in my hand. Unfortunately the discs it's way too tight inside the mechanism And requires way too much force to launch the disc for me to be able to use it. If the disc were to sit a little loosely I am sure it would work very well for me. If you could give a product like this to work for the disabled community it would change many people's lives for the better. I loved playing disc golf before I broke my neck and it's one of the things Ive missed dearly.
I bought the Dart launcher with one disc and my medium sized dog loved it. I wanted more dart discs and also to train on standard sized discs. The classic launcher has too short too floppy and too heavy a launcher. It therefore throws irrationally and harder on the human arms. I give Dart 5 stars but Classic 1-2 stars. That averaged to my 3 star rating.
The Voyager is very sturdy and using the tuner has been helpful to dial in the slices/hooks. I can confirm that it does great with several of my innova disc golf discs! Epec is perfect for getting my Lab running farther and we’re having a blast!!
Still need to experiment with them. Looking to throw further with this than by hand
My first disc launcher arrived broken, I responded to their emails just to let them know. With out me asking, they sent a free replacement as well as a free mini disc launcher! Very satisfied with the purchase and very pleased with the quick efficient customer service from Ken!
fun stick. I have not mastered it. One thing I did not see and it wasnt abundantly clear. What is the proper orientation when throwing? I figured it out but it wasnt clear. I will keep trying this and even take it to a DG course to see if I can make it a whole round with a decent score. I know it isnt PDGA. Thats ok. The discs should be though. Its for fun and I am hoping it can even work with an elderly person.
Seems to be well built and hardy. I tried it out with the discs that came with it and also my regular frisbee golf discs. Seems to work well. I need to practice more with it to try and get more distance. I still throw further by back hand and forehand.
EPEC Voyager + Extra Disc
I have the smaller 5 inch disk launcher, and loved it so much I purchased the full size launcher with the extra long handled Voyager to get maximum distance. It worked great and then after the 5th day it snapped in half near the middle as I was going to throw. Maybe I wasn’t using the exact proper technique? Either way it seemed like the extra length of the voyager couldn’t handle the extra force with a full throw. I still love the other products though!
If your dog has no saliva it would work great
I can throw a frisbee a half dozen different ways, a disc golf disc 350ft both forehand and backhand, a wide variety of boomerangs, am pretty good at skipping rocks, and I've even used an atlatl to launch a spear, but I cannot get a disc to come out of this launcher flat, level, with good spin and go anywhere. At worst it comes out with zero spin and literally tumbles end over end. At best it comes out horizontal with very little spin and immediately flips vertical and stays that way on a ballistic trajectory. Longest distance was achieved with a roller. It never goes in the direction I'm aiming (usually early release). Tried a smooth swing, and a short chop and everything in between. I tried the included disc and it works "best" but still bad (can throw it backhand 250ft without issue so I know it's not the disc's fault), and then changed the grips to fit a variety of disc golf discs all with roughly the same results. I tried with lots of grip, and little grip and reaults always pretty much always terrible. I'm sure it must be capable of launching a disc, but not in my hands.
On a side note, for $300 you could get your disc PDGA certified. It's useful for certain types of mid-range approach shots (since it doesn't skip).
I do think this is a good product and like everything can be refined to a superior product but it is extra tricky to get the hang of. I saw distances of 200-275ish feet in every direction but the intended one. I’ll need more practice for certain
I am 58 years and just stated disc golf with my adult children, I am going to use this "even things up" to get more distance and not deal with a sore arm for months after playing.
The quick release tab was broken off on arrival, most likely since it was shipped in a bag and not a box
